Sacramento, CA – The California Taxpayer’s Association (CTA) and the Howard Jarvis Taxpayer’s Association (HJTA) — two of California’s leading taxpayer protection groups — have issued their 2016 legislative scorecards showing top scores for State Senator Mike Morrell (R-Rancho Cucamonga/23) and Assemblyman Jay Obernolte (R-Big Bear Lake/33).
Morrell and Obernolte — who represent the mountain communities — both received 100 percent scores from the CTA. And while Morrell and Obernolte both collected “A” grades from HJTA, Morrell had a 91.7 percent voting record and Obernolte was one of only six legislators with a perfect 100 percent score.
The scores were based on votes on legislation selected by the CTA and HJTA.
OBERNOLTE’S REACTION
Assemblyman Obernolte issued the following statement:
“I am very proud to earn perfect scores from California’s leading taxpayer advocates. Politicians in Sacramento keep proposing legislation that makes it harder to live and work in California, but I will continue to fight for the individuals and businesses that are being crushed by heavy tax burdens in this state.”
