Fixing our Economy

Out of control government spending has created the worst inflation we have seen in decades and stagnant growth. That is why Congressman Obernolte authored legislation to force the government to balance the budget and establish a new committee to cut spending. By doing these things and lowering taxes on small businesses and the middle class, we will get our economy growing and reduce inflation.

Securing the Border

The wide-open border has led to an increase in human and drug trafficking in San Bernardino County. Nationwide, drug overdoses have also increased. That is why Congressman Obernolte authored legislation to secure the border by resuming construction on the border wall and hiring additional officers to investigate human and drug trafficking operations.

Keeping Us Safe

With rising crime and murder rates, it is clear that efforts to undermine our law enforcement officers have made us less safe. That is why Congressman Obernolte opposed efforts to defund the police and authored the JUSTICE Act, which would have funded increased training and provided law enforcement the tools they need to keep us safe. San Bernardino County Sheriff Shannon Dicus and District Attorney Jason Anderson have both endorsed Jay because they know he is the only candidate who will work to make our community safer.

Fighting for Veterans

Service, sacrifice, and honor. The men and women of our armed forces live those words each and every day. Jay understands this, and that’s why he’s made it his mission to give back to those heroes and their families who have given so much for us. Jay is a pilot and provides free air transport to wounded veterans and their families through the Veterans Airlift Command. He also led the fight to stop the closure of the Barstow Veterans Home and in Congress fought for legislation to ensure just compensation for veterans and reduce the backlog at the VA.

Protecting Taxpayers

Congressman Obernolte has been a staunch advocate for taxpayers. As a state lawmaker, he fought to audit wasteful projects and opposed billions in tax increases. In Congress, he authored legislation to end the failed High-Speed Rail project and opposed tax increases that would kill jobs and hurt our economy. He is also working to balance the budget to reduce the national debt.

Improving National Defense

After cyberattacks shut down critical supply chains that provided energy and food to Americans, Congressman Obernolte authored legislation to increase our cyber workforce to combat future attacks. This legislation was passed in the 2022 National Defense Authorization Act by a large bipartisan majority. Congressman Obernolte strongly believes that ensuring our national defense is one of the most important roles of government.
